If You Are Not Brave Enough To Be Misunderstood You Can Not Lead

EDUCATION
My name is Sayeed Aslam, and I have been a resident of the Williams Landing ward in Wyndham Council since 2013. Originally from Hyderabad, India, I came to Melbourne as a postgraduate student, a journey shared by many first-generation migrants like myself. I am an Australian by choice, not by chance, and it meant leaving loved ones behind, which wasn't easy.
For me, acquiring citizenship was not the culmination of my journey but rather its commencement. As a first-generation migrant, I am discovering unique challenges along the way. Below are my hard-earned academic qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Instrumentation Engineering
- Completed Masters in Telecommunication Engineering
- Master’s in Project Management
- Senior Executive Master’s in Business Administration (SEMBA) from Melbourne Business School in 2022

SOCIAL SERVICE
https://haco.org.au
HACO is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to assisting community members who are not prepared for the final journey of a family member, friend, or acquaintance. I feel fortunate and privileged to have been involved with HACO since its inception.
While numerous organisations address the day-to-day needs of the community, HACO focuses on critical areas often overlooked due to their complexity and associated taboos. We not only advocate for women's leadership but actively support and promote it through concrete actions. Two key leadership positions within our organisation are held by women, marking HACO as a trailblazer within the Hyderabadi community.
My extensive experience working directly with the community has given me a profound understanding of the challenges faced by nonprofit organisations and individuals dedicated to community service. These challenges include:
As someone deeply rooted in grassroots efforts, I believe in the importance of hands-on involvement in addressing these challenges. Only those who have actively engaged in such causes can truly comprehend the complexities involved.
At HACO, our entire team provides essential support and mentoring as needed. We are committed to making a real difference in our community, one family at a time.
